School District Representation

There is a team focused on supporting the member, including School District representatives.

Absence Advisor

The absence advisor at the school district

  • Advises the HCMS and the Union JEIS Coordinator when members have been or are expected to be, absent for six consecutive scheduled working days/shifts.

  • Provides basic information (name, phone number, address, last date worked, etc.) to Desjardins and the Union JEIS Coordinator, as required.

Management Representative

The management representative

  • Promotes the JEIS and the benefit of using the service.

  • Provides leadership support for the overall program and assists the PEBT in resolving RTW/accommodation issues.

  • Supports the District Joint JEIS Committee in carrying out the JEIS objectives.

  • Ensures JEIS referrals are sent by the 6th day of absence.

District JEIS Coordinator

The District JEIS Coordinator

  • Acts as a liaison between the school district and the District Joint JEIS Committee over School District issues and concerns.

  • Promotes and educates school district staff and management about the JEIS and the benefits of this service.

  • Provides advice to Desjardins on absent members’ job responsibilities, including details about general duties and the physical and mental effort involved.

  • Helps Desjardins develop and implement an RTW or accommodation program.
