Union Representation

There is a team focused on supporting the member, including union representatives.

Union JEIS Coordinator

  • Receives notice from the Absence Advisor when members have been, or are expected to be, absent for six consecutive scheduled working days/shifts and when Desjardins has been notified

  • Contacts absent members as soon as possible to tell them Desjardins will be contacting them to offer help – a member contact script and email insert have been created to help with these calls

  • Advises members that the JEIS is a program offered through the PEBT and participation is a requirement of the LTD plan

  • Acts as a liaison between the local union and the District Joint JEIS Committee over local issues and concerns

  • Promotes and educates members and the local union about the JEIS and the benefits of this service

Local Union Representative

  • Promotes the JEIS and the benefit of using the service.

  • Provides leadership support for the overall program and assist the PEBT in resolving RTW/accommodation issues.

  • Supports the District Joint JEIS Committee in carrying out the JEIS objectives.
